CES Model 400 - Electricity Trainer backhome
The power indicator light is on, but there is no output power on the power out jacks.
The circuit breaker may have been tripped due to incorrect wiring by the student. Simply turn off the power, reset the circuit breaker and all should be well.
The student wired the experiment correctly, but nothing works.
Model 400 trainers manufactured before 1997 include a troubleshooting test switch that disconnects various components. The switch is labeled "test only" and is located on the front of the 400 panel. This switch must be set so that the pointer is in the "off" position which is at the 12:00 position. Failure to do this will result in lessons not functioning. This feature has been removed from the latest revision of this series trainer.

The students lost the key for the key switch, can I get a replacement.
Yes, you can obtain a replacement key directly from us, however, you will have to contact technical support to determine if the trainer that you have uses the standard key or a model specific key. Trainers with a copyright date of 1996 or later all use the same key. Trainers manufactured before 1996 will require a complete replacement of the keyswitch.
The buzzer or bell on the trainer stopped working, what is wrong?
Most likely, nothing is wrong. If the bell or buzzer stopped working, simply check the students wiring. Over 99% of all calls and emails to support regarding the 400 series trainer can be directly attributed to "pilot error" If after inspecting the wiring you bell or buzzer still does not work you may have to open the trainer and check the position of the "clapper" or the armature on the bell or buzzer to see if they are still making contact with the device. If it still does not operate correctly, contact support.
